Lesson (19/01/16)
Note taking on theories
Theories –
Goodwin (1993): Music Video as a category of media product /
characteristics / (nostalgia)
Narrative:
Narrative theories help us to look for common structures/patterns in different
stories
· Barthes – Narrative contain 2 codes, e.g. ‘Rainy Day’
connotes a mood ; easily de-code (taking meaning) – Action code ; provide
questions/mystery – Enigma Code
· Action code give information & Enigma code
withhold information
Levi-Strauss
–
- Narrative involve a tension between two opposing ideas/ characters - good and bad character, e.g - the bad character will get punish in the end.
- For example - Civilisation versus wilderness & the wisdom of age versus the impulsivness of youth
- Masculinity and femininity - Males are tough while female are soft

Working Progress - CD Disc (14/1/16)
Today I've finally begin editing my CD Disc, and the image below is the photo that will be used for my CD disc cover.
At this stage I was indecisive whether I should use black for the font colour, because when I try experimenting with light colour it was unable to be seen properly.
In the end, I decided to use pastel pink in order to reflect the colour scheme which were pink, grey and black.

Working Progress - A4 Magazine Advert 1 (13/01/16)
In today's lesson I've begin to do my A4 Magazine Advert, and the photo below is the main cover for my magazine advert.
I added filter to make the image in general look black and white to give off the vibe from our album, however, I made the hair into colour in order to show the contrast of b&w.

Working Progress - Back Cover (12/01/16)
I've begin to start my album back cover, and I used this photo below for my back cover. I like this photo because of the light and shadows, which give off a light and dark imagery in which it reflect the concept very well; to show the innocence but yet dark side.
For the fonts the colour scheme I intend to use is pink, grey and black and I used pink for the tracklist in order to reflect the colour for the album front cover.
I also added logo of our production, records, barcode and QR Code, therefore the CD looks proficient as these logo is part of the conventional for a album back cover.
This is our logo for our production.
Working Progress - Print Products, Front Cover 2 (12/01/16)
Today I just begin to finish my album front cover and I added the logo for explicit content, as some of Melaine Martinez track in her album have explicit language which may not be suitable for younger audiences, therefore, this logo enable the younger audience and advise the parents/guardian to know that there is explicit language containing in the lyrics.

Working Progress - Print Products, Front Cover 1 (11/01/16)
Today I just started editing my print products for the front cover, there was a bit delay for print products editing due to the RAW files from the camera that were not able to be converted as JPEG, as previously someone changed the settings and we didn't noticed.
This is the photo I used for my front cover
As you can see I added filter for the photo to make it more vintage vibe, which were inspired by Lana Del Rey digipack.
I used pink because my colour scheme intention was to use pink, grey and black; to represent the innocence but yet dark side.
